Knoxville, TN ONE BIG STEP FOR KNOXVILLE BLUEGRASSERS "WILD BLUE YONDER," ONE GIANT STEP FOR THE BLUEGRASS WORLD!!! In an unprecedented event, Knoxville songwriters Melissa Wade and Philip Coward, co-founders of Wild Blue Yonder, break media boundaries in a joint CD/book project with award-winning Florida novelist D.L. Havlin. The soon-to-be-published book "September on Echo Creek" will contain a disc of Wade and Coward's original music performed by Wild Blue Yonder in the front cover - a truly novel idea! The concept has already received excellent response from literary industry professionals and interest from numerous publishers. "September on Echo Creek" is a romance/suspense novel and will be showcased with its accompanying CD June 3-5, 2005, at New York City's Jacob Javits Convention Center during BOOK EXPO AMERICA, the largest book publishing event in the U.S. Havlin's booth at the expo will feature daily live performances by Wade and Coward of their original tunes. The keynote speaker for the event will be actor Billy Crystal. The book/CD combo idea was born when Havlin heard Wade's original "It's Only Love" and was inspired to use the powerful ballad as a turning point in his latest novel. The band also makes several appearances in the book, performing their unique brand of contemporary bluegrass. Never before has the literary world invited folky songwriters from the hills of Tennessee to join in such a venture. As in the story itself, New York City meets the mountains of southern Appalachia in a most intriguing way! The progressive yet homespun nature of Wade and Coward's music makes it the perfect vehicle to spread the bluegrass word to new audiences. Reviewers and readers say: "Havlin's characters jump off the page and into your heart. The story beckons to you calmly then holds you inside like a passenger in a runaway truck to an O'Henry ending . . . the book and CD combo is a great idea from two rising stars in the publishing and music worlds."
